Proves Schilling can win in 17th

BOSTON, MASS–Scott Brown, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, scored a historic conservative victory in Massachusetts today. Brown’s victory ends the 47-year Democratic reign of former Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat. Bobby Schilling, candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th Congressional District, said that this victory is a “sure sign” that conservative challengers across the country have a legitimate chance of beating long-time incumbents.

“If this race wasn’t a referendum upon the Democrat’s congressional agenda, then I don’t know what is,” Schilling said. “Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts is a clear sign that their liberal agenda is not what the American people want. It’s common knowledge that Massachusetts is a Democrat state. If voters in Massachusetts rejected the current Democrat agenda, voters in the 17th District will most likely reject it as well.”

At approximately 9:20 pm EST, with 75% of precincts reporting, Martha Coakley conceded the election to Scott Brown. Brown won the election with 53% of the vote to Coakley’s 46%.

Schilling concluded, “The fact that Brown has won with this election by over 7 points is almost unbelievable. In 2010 there will be no ’safe’ elections. Democratic Party incumbents should not take 2010 lightly.”

Bobby Schilling, a native of Rock Island, has served as a local union steward and also has 13 years of union experience. Schilling, a local business owner and father of nine children, is running on a platform of bringing jobs and real representation back to the 17th district. Earlier this year, Schilling conducted a 34-city “Bob’s for Jobs” tour, where he met with voters and employers all across the district. Schilling is the only Republican candidate for the Illinois 17th District that will be on the ballot in the February primary election.

WQAD Coverage of the Scott Brown Victory Party

On January 20, 2010, in Uncategorized, by edwardpan

Take a look at this video from the Bobby Schilling for Congress Victory Rally for Scott Brown at the Rock Island GOP Headquarters.

Historic Night for the American People

EAST MOLINE, IL– Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th Congressional District, is teaming up with the Rock Island County Republican Party to host an election night rally in the Rock Island County GOP Headquarters in downtown Moline.  Supporters of Scott Brown are expected to be in attendance.

“Either way you look at it, this special election in Massachusetts will be historic,” said Bobby Schilling. “The fact that this race is close at all is a sign that the Democratic Party’s ‘tax and spend’ agenda is not popular with the general public or even members of their own party.”

Schilling continued, “If Scott Brown gets close in Massachusetts, I think that it can help clear up a lot of misconceptions about politics here, locally. If we can do it in Massachusetts, we can do it in Illinois. People are ready for a change and they want independent thinkers. They are sick of ‘rank and file’ party members that just follow in the mold of their party leaders.”

The campaign will have a television or live feed to watch the results of the Massachusetts Senate Election during the party.

The media is invited to attend, take pictures, and interview supporters during the event. Below are the event details:

Rock Island County GOP Headquarters
1721 5th Avenue
Moline, IL 61265

Event will begin at 7PM, and will keep going until there is a determinable winner in the race.
